Morotai Island, Indonesia


Morotai Island is a beautiful island with a natural landscape still very pure and a very long history. The island is located north of Halmahera Island, North Maluku province, Indonesia. The island is one of the northernmost islands of Indonesia and is the result of the expansion of North Halmahera Regency. 

The beauty of the island has a lot of history of the Second World War. Because Morotai Island was once a military base during World War II and around the island there are many relics of the war hiding cave for grounding aircraft, and armored vehicles are also still intact which is fabulous. The island also has beautiful beaches and towns once on Morotai were located next to Daruba. 

The island has an area of about 1.734 square kilometers, stretching 80 kilometers north and south and about 43 kilometers wide. Nearly all of the island’s many villages and settlements in the seaside. East Coast starts from Daruba and will eventually reach the Berebere and the main city on the eastern coast of Morotai in about 69 kilometers from Daruba. On this island there is also a lot of food that you can find at Morotai. The tourists really like once with food very fresh lobster.
